Rakshna B is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Amrita School of Computing, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Nagercoil Campus. With one year of teaching experience and prior industry experience. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
She completed her M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Cyber-Physical Systems from VIT Chennai and earned her B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Panimalar Institute of Technology, Chennai.
Her area of specialization is Cybersecurity, and her research focuses on Cybersecurity, with particular interest in securing Edge Computing environments and healthcare-related emerging technologies. Her teaching interests include Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Applied Cryptography, and Functional Programming.
With a combination of academic and industry experience, she is committed to bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications.
In addition to her teaching and research, she actively mentors undergraduate student projects. She is currently guiding one of the HutLab & SmartLab teams working on a ROS 2 project and also mentors several other academic and innovation-driven student projects. Through these initiatives, she encourages students to develop practical skills, engage in research, and build real-world engineering solutions.
She actively engages in research, continuous learning, and professional development to stay updated with the latest advancements in cybersecurity and emerging technologies. She strives to create a collaborative, student-centric learning environment that fosters technical excellence, critical thinking, and innovation.
