Abstract : With the advent of technology, electromagnetic pollution and associated side effects are creating an alarming situation. This situation made researchers work on the development of novel shields to protect electronic devices from these harmful radiations. Researchers came up with different materials and material combinations to interact with electromagnetic waves and protect the necessary devices. Especially, rubbery materials are very interesting for these applications, as they result in flexible and stretchable shields. This chapter focuses on a rubber matrix embedded with different fillers to prepare effective electromagnetic interference (EMI) shields. These fillers include nanoparticles, carbon materials, MXenes, and magnetic materials. A general introduction to rubbers, their types, and EMI shielding is discussed, and future directions are proposed.
