Bio

Dr. S. Ambadi Narayanan is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of English in the Department of Science and Humanities, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai Campus. He obtained his PhD in English Language and Literature from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus. His doctoral research, titled “Imperatives of Global Capitalism and Emergence of Alternate Social Structures: A Narratological Study of Societies after Implosion,” explores the intersections of global capitalism, social transformation, and narrative through contemporary literary and theoretical works. He completed his Integrated Master of Arts (M.A.) in English Language and Literature from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus.   He has over six years of research experience. is academic and research interests encompass contemporary literary and cultural studies, postmodern narratology, climate humanities, ecocriticism, posthumanism, political economy in literature, and spatial narratives.

Prior to joining Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, he served as a Senior English Instructor at NxtWave, where he was involved in English language training, academic quality assurance, and the mentoring of English instructors across seventeen campuses in India. His role also involved the development and evaluation of AI-enabled quality assessment frameworks and technology-assisted approaches to English language learning.
