The WINSOC project consisted of a consortium of eleven partners from eight different countries. Amrita University and Antrix (the commercial arm of Indian Space Research Organization) were the only partners participating from India; all other partners were from Europe. WINSOC is a Specific Targeted Research Project co-funded by the INFSO DG of the European Commission within the RTD activities of the Thematic Priority Information Society Technologies. WINSOC explores the possibility to develop a novel technology for Wireless Sensor Networks, that has significant potentials for overcoming conventional technologies in terms of cost, size and power consumption.
