Dhanush Kumar currently serves as Research Associate at the VALUE Virtual Labs at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Dhanush is an IT Engineer with primary expertise in development and deployment of Online Labs. His major focus and involvement were in designing and developing the Remote Triggered experiments, Animation and Simulation based Virtual Labs in biotechnology and computational biology. He is also involved in various research activities in the Amrita Mind Brain Center.
Dhanush has authored or co-authored numerous research articles, many of which are published in high-impact journals. He was honored with Amrita Innovation & Research Award (AIRA) in the category of Journal (Tier 1 awards) in 2024. A co-authored journal paper by him, won the Outstanding Journal Paper of the Year Award from the Prestigious Journal iJOE [International Journal of Online Engineering] in 2017. He has attended several international conferences/workshops and presented technical papers. He has more than 25 international publications to his credit. His publications focus on the development and implementation of virtual labs for biotechnology education, particularly in resource-limited settings. Some of his publications involve computational tools and simulations for analyzing biological data and modeling systems. He is actively involved in research and collaboration, and his work has made significant contributions to these fields.
