Amrita’s climate-resilience platforms combine AI-IoT early warning, hyperlocal monitoring, GeoAI, crowd intelligence and women-led community networks , delivering 3–24 hour advance disaster warnings and supporting the full cycle from preparedness through adaptation. The work holds the world’s first AI-enabled IoT Landslide Early Warning System, 3*International Program on Landslides (IPL) World Centre of Excellence designations, the NABARD Rural Innovation Award 2012 and the ADA Award 2023.

Women-led resilience: 300,000+ AmritaSREE SHG women in climate buffering, microcredit, livelihood diversification and preparedness leadership; 4,500+ SANKALP SHG members. CCRRC hub-and-spoke: 14 hubs · 200 spokes · 25 states; 2,200+ communities served with pre-positioned early warning systems and disaster preparedness training. Disaster response experience: Gujarat Earthquake 2001, Indian Ocean Tsunami 2004, Nepal Earthquake 2015, Kerala Floods 2018, Himalayan landslides & GLOF events.

Full DRR cycle: before, during & after

Preparedness: PRA-based multi-hazard risk mapping across all 14 CCRRC villages.
Early Warning: AI-IoT landslide & AmritaKripa flood alerts, 3–24 hr ahead.
Response: 400+ AYUDH volunteers; Navy, NDRF & police coordination (2018).
Recovery: trauma support, PMFBY crop insurance, MGNREGS action plans.
Mitigation & Adaptation: tsunami-resistant housing, nature-based slope stabilisation, climate-smart cropping, livelihood diversification, SHG buffers.
