The Department of Electronics and Communication engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, conducted a three day workshop and mini-project course on “Physical Layer Security – Theory to Practice” sponsored by DRDO and IETE Coimbatore centre during 13th -15th November 2019. This workshop aimed at imparting core competency in methods of Physical layer security staring from fundamentals, design of schemes, implementation and further research. The lectures were delivered on fundamentals of physical layer security, information theoretic security, secret key generation schemes, security in cooperative networks and IoT.
In addition, the workshop included simulation and emulation of Physical layer on GNU radio and USRP, coupled with hands-on to the participants through several lab sessions. The speakers in the workshop include Dr. Navin Kashyap (IISc Bangalore) , Dr. Parthajit Mohapatra (IIT, Tirupati), Dr. Albert Sunny (IIT, Palakkad), Dr. P. Rajalakshmi (IIT, Hyderabad) and in-house experts. There were around 45 participants comprising faculty, research scholars, post-graduate and under-graduate students of various engineering institutions.
