Webinar on – “Robotics” was conducted on 11th August 2020 at 11 AM on online platform – Microsoft Teams by the Department of Computer Science, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus for PU/+2 students in association with Computer Society of India . 160 participants attended the webinar.
Dr. Surendra Prasad Babu, Regional Vice President, Region 5, CSI, delivered the inaugural message by providing information on the origins and chapters of CSI and briefing on the classification of AI robotics.
The resource Person – Mr. Rajesh M, Assistant Professor, Computer science Engineering, Bengaluru gave talk on the opportunities, challenges and future prospects for Robotics research.
He began the session by providing information on Traditional Industrial Robots, Autonomous Robot Revolution, and Smart Environment Robots. He explained the domains where robotics is implemented efficiently using appropriate examples. Sir emphasizes the three main research areas, such as changed aspects of design, incorporating multiple capabilities and energy consumption.
He concluded the session by providing the research scholars, students and other participants with detailed information about the future research aspects.
Outcome: Students got the idea of computer science course and roles of Robots in the several fields.
