Amrita Students Secure National 2nd Place at Guidewire DEVTrails University Hackathon 2026

A multidisciplinary student team from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has secured the National Runner-Up position with a prize money of ₹1.5 Lakhs at the prestigious Guidewire DEVTrails University Hackathon 2026, conducted in collaboration with Guidewire and EY.

Competing against more than 4,400 teams and over 18,000 participants from across the country, the team “Mog Squad” developed Continuum, an AI-powered parametric insurance platform designed to protect India’s gig workers from sudden income loss caused by environmental and social disruptions such as heavy rainfall, floods, pollution, and unexpected shutdowns.

The hackathon challenge focused on designing an intelligent insurance solution capable of supporting delivery partners and gig workers during unforeseen disruptions that directly impact their livelihood.
