Micronet – Mobile Infrastructure for Coastal Region Offshore Communications & Networks, sponsored by ITRA.

Work Involved

Mainly involved for developing a mobility model for fishing vessels and implementing network level simulation for the proposed architecture in MICRONet

Detailed achievements:

  • Requirement definition for MICRONet
    1. Interview with fisherman and boat owners(Kollam)
    2. Discussion with Indian Navy, Cochin
    3. Survey on state of the art solutions
  • Development of mobility model for fishing vessel
    1. Collection and analysis of real time GPS data from the fishing ves-sels
    2. Formulation of mobility model
  •  Survey of existing mobility models
  •  Dividing the real data into 7 phases and modelling those phases with exisiting or with newly developed models
  • Familiarization with ns-3 platform for network simulation

MINOR PROJECTS

  • 2012: A General Flexible Audio Blind Source Separation System with the aid of ICA(Independent Component Analysis), NMF(Non Negative Matrix Factorization).
  • 2011: Optical Character Recognition(OCR) on Handwritten Sanskrit with Aid of support Vector machines and K – means clustering
