Bio

Dr. Harikrishnan D is a techno-creative academic and media professional with over 22 years of experience in visual media, animation, and design education. Currently serving as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) and Research Supervisor in the Department of Visual Media and Communication at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi Campus, he blends technical expertise with artistic vision to foster innovation in media education.

Starting his career in 2002 as an animator and motion graphics artist, Dr. Harikrishnan transitioned to academia in 2011, bringing rich industry experience into teaching and research. His professional journey includes roles such as Media & Design Manager, Graphic Artist, and Training Manager, contributing to projects in 3D visualization, motion graphics, and broadcast media.

He completed his Ph.D. in Visual Media and Communication in 2022 and holds an MFA in Visual Media, along with UGC-NET qualification in Visual Arts. Dr. Harikrishnan has published extensively in reputed journals. He has also acquired an Indian Design Patent, for an innovative design titled Stackable Water Container (Patent No. 456592-001), granted in 2025.

An enthusiastic educator and researcher, Dr. Harikrishnan actively engages in interdisciplinary projects, delivers invited talks on 3D graphics and motion design trends, and serves as a member of the Board of Studies in Visual Media and Fine Arts. His efforts contribute to integrating technology and creativity to shape the future of media education.
