Bio

Dr. K. Anitha serves as an Associate Professor and Chairperson in the Department of Science and Humanities, School of Engineering, at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai Campus. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, with her doctoral research focused on Rough Set Theory-based Feature Extraction in Biological Data Mining. She has also completed her M.Phil. and M.Sc. in Mathematics from Madurai Kamaraj University and earned her undergraduate degree from Bharathidasan University. Additionally, she qualified the Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (SET) in Mathematical Sciences.

Dr. Anitha brings over 20 years of extensive teaching experience, including more than 10 years of post-Ph.D. academic expertise. She has held a prestigious Visiting Post-Doctoral position at the Casimir Pulaski University of Radom, Poland (2023–2024), contributing significantly to international research collaborations. Her research interests span interdisciplinary domains, including machine learning, fuzzy-rough set theory, algebraic number theory, graph algorithms, and mathematical modeling.

An accomplished researcher and academic leader, Dr. Anitha has published 52 research articles in indexed journals, authored 5 books, and contributed 6 book chapters. She has presented 31 papers at national and international conferences and delivered 14 keynote and invited talks. She has successfully guided 3 Ph.D. scholars under Anna University and SRM Institute of Science and Technology. She has also secured research funding (₹9.79 lakhs) from agencies such as ICMR and AICTE and holds a published patent in the domain of predictive modeling for COVID-19 risk analysis and design patent Data visualization system utilizing Rough set labelling Techniques.
