Bio

Dr. Lav Kumar Singh is a mathematician specializing in Functional Analysis, Banach Algebras, and Operator Algebras. He received his PhD from the School of Physical Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. His research interests include Banach and topological algebras, C*-algebras and locally C*-algebras, group and Fourier algebras of locally compact groups, and biduals of Banach algebras. He has particular interests in Arens regularity, topological centers, Schatten (p)-class ideals, projective tensor products, and geometric properties of Banach spaces, including the Radon–Nikodým property, weak sequential completeness, and covering indices. He has held postdoctoral positions at the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Mechanics (IMFM), Ljubljana, as well as at IISER Bhopal and IIT Gandhinagar. His research combines techniques from functional analysis, harmonic analysis, operator theory, and the geometry of Banach spaces. Alongside research, he is actively involved in teaching mathematics and mentoring students, with an interest in developing rigorous and accessible approaches to advanced mathematical concepts. His academic work includes research on structural and geometric properties of Banach and operator algebras and their applications to contemporary problems in analysis.
