Dr. Lekshmy R. is an Associate Professor and Administrative In-charge in the Department of Radiology, with a special interest and expertise in Advanced Breast Imaging and Image-Guided Breast Interventions.
She has over 12 years of experience in Radiology, with dedicated 4 years of experience in breast imaging and interventions. Her clinical practice encompasses comprehensive breast imaging using digital mammography with tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM), and Breast MRI.
She has a particular interest in the early and accurate diagnosis, staging and assessment of breast cancer, imaging of high-risk women, and minimally invasive image-guided breast procedures. She is actively involved in postgraduate teaching, resident training, academic programmes, and mentorship. She conducts academic sessions, scientific activities, and master classes focused on breast imaging for radiologists and postgraduate trainees.
Her academic interests include promoting awareness and confidence in advanced breast imaging among young radiologists and improving breast cancer awareness among women.
She is also involved in breast cancer awareness initiatives and educational programmes for healthcare professionals and the community. She has participated in and contributed to workshops, mentorship programmes, conferences, and hands-on training programmes in advanced breast imaging and interventions.
Her research contributions have been published in national and international journals.
