Bio

Dr. Mukil M. V. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, and serves as Associate Director of AMMACHI Labs. A scholar defined by interdisciplinary rigor, Dr. Mukil holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies, alongside an M.Tech in Engineering Design and a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. His work is situated at the critical intersection of technical precision and social inquiry, leveraging a background in engineering to address complex human-environmental challenges.

His research program investigates the psychological and behavioral drivers of environmental stewardship, with a primary focus on Human-Nature Connectedness (HNC) and the preservation of sacred natural sites. By exploring Indian Knowledge Systems and cultural frameworks, he seeks to identify sustainable pathways for ecological balance rooted in traditional wisdom. Beyond environmental psychology, Dr. Mukil explores the frontier of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) for social good—integrating immersive technologies, robotics, and computational modeling to enhance STEM education and validate regional architectural efficiency.

As a mentor and academic leader, he is dedicated to fostering a research ecosystem where engineering and social work converge. His mission is to develop scalable, community-centric innovations that promote environmental resilience and cross-disciplinary excellence.
