Bio

Nalluri Venkata Sai Gowtham is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Amrita Darshanam, International Centre for Spiritual Studies at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amaravati Campus. He holds a Master’s degree in Yoga Therapy from Centre for Integrative Medicine & Research, Manipal University, where he received comprehensive training in yogic philosophy and therapeutic applications of yoga. His academic background has provided him with knowledge and practical understanding of the application of yoga-based interventions for promoting holistic health and well-being and for addressing modern lifestyle-related disorders. As part of his postgraduate research, he undertook a project at Hombelaku Rehabilitation Centre, Manipal, where he explored the application of yogic practices, particularly Trataka Kriya and Surya Namaskara, to support the development of psychomotor abilities among individuals undergoing rehabilitation. At Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, he is involved in teaching subjects associated with the Amrita Value Programmes. His academic interests include the dissemination of Indian knowledge systems, human values, holistic living, and the relevance of these principles in contemporary education and society. His areas of interest include Yoga Therapy, therapeutic applications of yoga, psychomotor development, holistic health, Indian knowledge systems, and value-based education.

  • Nalluri Venkata Sai Gowtham got an opportunity to take a guest talk session at IIIT, Kanchi on Importance of Yoga Therapy to the Teaching Professionals organized by the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram, Chennai.

  1. Presented a Paper on Adaptive Yogic Practices for Children with Intellectual Disability, in the International Conference in Physical Education & Sports, Sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India and DST Rajasthan, Manipal University, Jaipur, Rajasthan.
  2. Presented paper in National Seminar on “Holistic Approach to Health & Wellness” organized at A.S.D. Govt. Degree College for Women, Kakinada. The presented paper entitled Prominence of Yoga Asanas in Daily Life.

Presented a Paper entitled Prominence of Pranayama in our daily life presented in the International Conference on the theme “Prospective Approaches and Applications of Yoga and Physical Activity for Better Life” organized by Department of Physical Education, All Saints College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
