Qualification Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Alternatively, a diploma in IT or networking may be acceptable.
Job Description

  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of server and data center networking infrastructure.

  • Ensure the availability, reliability, security, and quality of on-prem IT infrastructure and the services it provides to the business.

  • Review existing and emerging ICT requirements, conduct market research and due diligence to identify and commission appropriate products and services. Assist in the development of policy in consultation with the manager.

  • Test new hardware and software before commissioning.

  • Automate any recurring tasks using scripts. Identify, investigate, analyse, resolve, and log/report issues and incidents on time to ensure minimal business disruption.

  • Monitor onsite IT infrastructure capacity and performance levels and report all upgrade requirements on time.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all core system and network infrastructure including cloud services.

  • Provide 3rd level support for the service desk analysts.

  • Manage any overflow of service desks requests as required.
Technical Skills

  1. Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux systems.

  2. Understanding of file systems, user permissions, and OS installation/configuration.

  3. Familiarity with basic networking concepts (IP addresses, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls is an advantage.

  4. Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting.

  5. Familiarity with servers and storage devices.

  6. Knowledge of basic system monitoring and diagnostic tools.

  7. Cloud and Virtualization (Optional but Desirable): Basic knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  8. Familiarity with virtual environments like VMware or Hyper-V. Certifications (Optional but Beneficial): CompTIA A+.

  9. Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Windows Server Certification.

  10. Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).

  11. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
