Flow cytometry is a laser-based technique used to distinguish cells according to physical and chemical properties. Flow cytometry is commonly used for the evaluation of bone marrow, peripheral blood and other body fluids for the diagnosis of malignancies and other disease conditions in humans. Amrita Advanced Flow Cytometry Lab has more than a decade of track record in diagnostics. We are announcing a certificate training course for post-graduates who wish to become technologists in diagnostic flow cytometry.

Course Overview

Criteria
  • Eligibility : M.Sc./M.Tech in Life Sciences/MLT
  • Age : Between 23 – 35 years
  • Period of Training : 1 year
  • Course fee for training period (1 year) : Rs. 5,000 +18% GST/month
  • Stipend during internship (6 months) : Rs. 5,000/month
  • Date of Commencement : October
How to Apply

Eligible applicants would be required to send an email to researchsecretary@aims.amrita.edu with cc to bindhupaul@acnsmm.aims.amrita.edu. An initial telephonic interview will be done to short-list the candidates for the physical interview at Amrita School of Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine.

Course Details

The training will be conducted in 2 sessions of 6 months each. First 6 months will be training in flow cytometry techniques and second 6 months will be internship, wherein the trainee will receive hands-on exposure in diagnostic flow cytometry and immunophenotyping. The trainees shall not apply for any other posts or courses or scholarships or appear for any other examination or interview in other places during the period of training. Trainees absconding from training during internship or leaving before completion will be deemed to refund the stipend paid to them with interest as per the rates fixed by the institution. The candidates are expected to execute an undertaking of this effect on a non-judicial bond at the time of joining. Candidates with poor performance as evaluated by written as well as practical examinations will not be offered internship. Applications should be sent on or before 17th September 2023.
