Kochi Intervention for Tobacco Smoke-Free Homes [KIFT]

The Kochi Intervention for tobacco smoke-free homes is an initiative to decrease indoor smoking among smokers residing in selected urban, rural, and peri-urban areas in the district of Ernakulam. By preventing indoor smoking, we aim to decrease the exposure to second-hand smoke among household members, especially children. Several community-level meetings, awareness campaigns, formation of children’s groups, and onboarding of Local Self Government leaders and self-help group members were carried out as part of the project.

KIFT – ” Kochi Intervention for smoking cessation and tobacco smoke free homes – KIFT 2022″ One day Workshop conducted by Kochi Muncipal Corporation ,National Health Mission, Ernakulam and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences Kochi on 21.2.2022 at PHC, Edakochi.

KIFT (Kochi Intervention For Tobacco smoke free homes) inaugurated Honorable Mayor :Adv.  M. Anilkumar, Kochi Corporation on 09.04.2021.

Project Title: Effectiveness of a ‘tobacco smoke-free home’ intervention in partnership with women’s self-help groups in the slums of Kochi corporation, Kerala: A cluster randomized trial
