Abstract : For integrating renewable energy resources such as PV to a microgrid there requires an efficient energy management strategy due to the intermittent nature of renewable energy resources. An energy storage system such as battery storage system is always used along with PV as an auxiliary energy source. In this paper we propose a fuzzy based controller for the energy management in a PV-Battery based microgrid. Depending on the availability of PV power, Battery State of Charge(SoC), Load the fuzzy logic controller will take the decision and corresponding switching signals will be produced.
