Abstract : This chapter aims to bring together the details of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) polymer and its specific characteristics. A short introduction to PEEK, its physical, chemical, mechanical, and thermal properties, is presented in detail. Alongside this, the potential applications of this polymer in materials science are explained with respect to the noteworthy advantages. This chapter serves as an introductory section to the underlying chapters of this book and also gives a general outline of this book. This chapter will also provide comprehensive information about PEEK to all the academic, student, and research communities in this field.
