Abstract : Navigation with an unmanned aircraft is a complex problem to solve as it is strictly dependent on the effectiveness of sensors and actuators. Fault-Tolerant Control (FTC) is an effective tool to tackle these challenges in the event of a fault in any actuators or sensors. This project reviews the possibilities of improved performance in the face of actuator failures in an aircraft by implementing Fault Detection (FD) and FTC techniques. The goal is achieved through online fault isolation and diagnosis, automatic assessment in conditions, and the calculation of actions that need to taken in action on detecting a fault. The resultant simulation performance prove that the controller proposed in this work achieves its design intention and demonstrates the coherence of the chosen control logic art of approach in the event of a rudder failure.
