Abstract : Near to bone-based properties, polyether ether ketone (PEEK) got wider attention in biomedical applications, especially in artificial bone. In addition to these chemical, thermal stability, and radiolucency, PEEK was found effective in spine treatment, orthopedic tools and products, maxillofacial surgery, etc. Improving the osteoinductive and antimicrobial capabilities of PEEK got wider attention in the research field from material scientists to biologists owing to its potential applications offered in the biomedical field. This chapter portrays the main biomedical applications of PEEK, its composites, block copolymers, etc., in different fields of biomedicine from photodynamic therapy to bone regeneration. Hence, this chapter gives glimpses into the biomedical application of PEEK and its composites.
