Abstract : Wind energy proves out to be indispensable among the renewable energy sources. It is one of the best and efficient non-conventional source of energy. Continuous research and advancement were undergoing in order to run the wind turbine at its optimal point. In this paper, the main aim is to manifest a comparative analysis of boost and quadratic boost power interfaces to a wind energy conversion system (WECS). Perturb & Observe algorithm is incorporated in this proposed work to obtain maximum power available from wind. Simulated results of the proposed system extracts optimum output power, for a wind generator is connected through a rectifier to the dc load using MATLAB/Simulink. Hence, improved exploitation of the accessible wind energy is obtained in terms of performance.
