Abstract : The design of fuzzy control based efficient power electronic module for a distribution transformer is presented. The module is used to address the power quality problems in the power system. It includes a power electronic module auto linked on secondary winding of line frequency transformer. The power electronic module produces compensating voltage which can be added to input voltage to obtain the rated output voltage at the load terminals when voltage instability like voltage sags and swells occur in electrical grid system. From the simulation analysis, it is inferred that Fuzzy logic control provides better control compared to conventional methods.
