Abstract : In proposed DC micro grid (MG) system, dc boost converter is implemented separately for different renewable energy sources like PV array, fuel cell and battery. These power sources are used, to deliver certain amount of power, but due to the occurrence of fault in the system, one of the power source will fail to operate and other two power sources should supply the power. Implementing Smart Meter (SM) is necessary as it indicates real power, reactive power, voltage, current and power factor simultaneously in lesser time period to utility grid during fault condition, for effectively operating the dc micro grid. MATLAB Simulink is used to model this dc micro grid topology.
