Abstract : In relation to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the world seeks solutions to overcome this crisis. Social distancing, wearing face masks and maintaining personal hygiene are all measures to reduce the spread of coronavirus. Nowadays, electrospinning is an important research topic for the fabrication of bionanofibers. Antibacterial and antiviral electrospun bionanofibers can be used in the fabrication of facemasks and personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, which can efficiently prevent the spread of this disease. In addition to this main application, various electrospun bionanofibers are used for several applications, which may also help in reducing the risk of COVID-19 and as scaffolds which can be considered as a promising approach as biosensors to detect coronavirus, and so on. In this chapter, we discuss the possible role of electrospun bionanofibers in resolving this COVID-19 situation.
