Abstract : Sampling methodologies is a tool to investigate about the information of unknown population parameters. Sometimes the population has the tree structure where one node has two or many paths to scatter. For example, from one airport, there are many routes to travel to different airports; and further, other airports have many similar links. This creates graphical structure of connectivity among different airports around the world. Now the problem of investigation is; what is the average distance between two airports? This paper deals with the similar problem but in stratified sampling structure form. In particular, the binary tree structure is assumed and a node sampling procedure is developed to estimate the mean length between two nodes of a binary tree structured population. The Factor-Type estimator is used as a tool of estimation for this purpose. It is found that the node sampling procedure helps to estimate the mean edge length in stratified graphical structure.
