Abstract : We demonstrate a fiber optic chemi-luminescence sensor comprising of fiber optic bundle and photomultiplier tube for predicting combustion instability in a laboratory scale combustor. The sensor performance is consistent with that of a commercial pressure transducer, resulting in cross entropy measurement which indicates the onset of combustion instability.
