Abstract : This paper proposes a voltage doubler for a multi-output active clamp ZVS flyback converter, aiming to achieve superior efficiency for low power applications which demand constant power supply. In order to increase the power packing density, a trouble-free control technique with analog controller UC 3825 is used to regulate the output voltage against load variations and supply disturbance. The design, operation and results of the proposed converter is explained in detail and analyzed. The guiding principles for component design are specified and confirmed. Investigational results obtained from a prototype of a 3.5W are presented. Performance assessment of the proposed converter with the existing topology is made and the conclusions derived are highlighted. © Research India Publications.
