Abstract : The research aims to reduce chip thickness in orthogonal turning by examining its relationship with key machining parameters: feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut. Using response surface methodology in Minitab 18, 20 trials were conducted, but due to time and cost constraints, chip thickness measurements were taken for only 6 trials. To address this, a regression analysis was performed to predict chip thickness for the remaining trials. ANOVA identified significant parameters based on p-values, with feed rate found to be a crucial factor influencing chip thickness. The developed regression model accurately predicted chip thickness for unmeasured trial combinations, and confirmation tests validated the model's efficacy with just a 1.069% error.
