Abstract : Efficient power consumption and no power wastage is as good as generation extra power. In bit dark areas like parking lots or stock yards, etc huge amount of electricity is wasted because of unnecessary use of lights throughout the day and night. This paper describes an energy-efficient lighting system for underground and indoor parking lots. This system enables the lights to be used only when required and to be turned off otherwise. It uses Zigbee protocol for data transmission, and PIR i.e. Passive Infrared sensors for motion detection.
