Abstract : In this paper, an alternate wireless data collection method is proposed to utilize in place of the traditional wireless mesh networks that are used to collect sensor data where there is data loss and more energy is consumed in the process. Quadcopter is used as a mobile sink to overcome the challenges of the traditional wireless sensor networks and also, an energy conservation technique is implemented on all the sensor nodes to send data in a conservative manner. The quadcopter is designed to perform flights autonomously and collect data. The collected data is then analyzed. A significant improvement is observed in the convenience of data collection with less data loss and less amount of energy is used to send data.
