Abstract : We describe a case of 25-year-old-female with no significant medical history who presented with aphasia and right-sided hemiparesis & right upper motor neuron facial palsy. On examination she had feeble pulse, blood pressure difference in both arm, bruit heard over artery . Imaging studies revealed left middle cerebral artery infarct and carotid Doppler showed circumferential wall thickening suggestive of narrowing and near total occlusion. The diagnosis of Takayasu's arteritis was made and the patient was started on steroids with good clinical response.
