Abstract : This paper provides a review of textile antenna for medical applications. The advancement of wearable antenna is a good option to use in the human body for communication. Recent researchers are concentrating on developing this antenna due to their attractive features and easy adaptability. For possible medical applications, this research project focuses on the design and optimization of the antenna with textile substrate material that operates at 2.4 GHz, an unlicensed band for medical applications. The antenna performance is noted for various textile substrate materials such as polyester, cotton, lycra, and jeans, that are frequently used in the production of clothing. The substrate for further antenna development will be chosen from among materials with the best gain and efficiency characteristics. The investigation was made to identify the antenna with the appropriate shape to provide high gain. To improve performance, an array configuration will be created from the selected antenna shape. In order to optimize gain, a 1×2 array will be constructed initially and then upgraded to a 1x4 array. The array maximizes the gain and bandwidth through tuning. The antenna performance in real-world medical scenarios will be validated through extensive testing after the final design specifications are supplied for fabrication.
