Abstract : ABSTRACT In this study, Blends of SBR and NBR were prepared on a two roll mill, and different compositions of boron carbide particles were added to it. Cure characteristics of all samples were studied. Tensile, tear and hardness tests were conducted, according to ASTM standards. Increasing trend was obtained for each of the mentioned properties, with the addition of the filler. Change in hardness is found to be acceptable. Better enhancement obtained for tensile strength and tear strength. Percentage elongation in both tests were note and elastic modulus values also found for all samples. The enhancement in properties were compared with the specific gravity change of the rubber compound.
