Dr. Asit K Barma brings a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning 33 years in academia and industry, making a substantial impact at the crossroads of teaching, research, and industry consulting. His primary focus revolves around preparing students for the ever-evolving landscape of business in the era of Industry 4.0. In his teaching, Dr. Asit specializes in Digital Business Strategy, Services Marketing, Digital Marketing, IT Sales and Marketing, and Marketing Strategy. In the realm of consulting, he excels in areas such as Service Excellence and Customer Experience Management. Dr. Asit’s research interests encompass Service Excellence, Technology Readiness, and Digital Society, with a particular emphasis on Platform Business Models that have the potential for significant business impact. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Madras, with a dissertation on the “Impact of open-source CRM on customer retention,” as well as a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a B.Tech in Electrical (Electronics) Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Furthermore, he earned a National Scholarship during his 10+2 education under the West Bengal Board of Higher Secondary Education in 1979.
