Strategic agility is widely considered to be a high priority item, both for researchers and practitioners in the field of strategy & management. This is vital to sustain competitive advantage, especially in the modern complex, hyper-competitive, dynamic and disruptive business environments. In such environments, firms continuously face several threats and opportunities from the external environment and may also have to face equally challenging situations emerging from the internal environment. This may prompt firms to quickly respond by innovating – i.e. introducing new/modified products or services, establish strategic partnerships (with the ability to getting in and out of relationships quickly), improve quality, relook at cost structure & processes to reduce cost, innovate, restructure, reorganise strategies etc. The aim of this project will be to unpack the mechanisms leading to strategic agility and explore its links with innovation.
