ACARA (Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda) conducted a one day workshop on Medical Statistics for Ayurveda PhD Scholars at Amrita School of Ayurveda, Amritapuri on April 18, 2016.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was represented at VegMed 2016, held at the campus of Freie Universität, Berlin, Germany from the 22nd to 24th of April, 2016. Dr. P. Ram Manohar, Research Director at Amrita School of Ayurvedadelivered a Key Note Lecture on Vegetarian Nutrition in Ayurveda and also chaired a session on Vegetarian Nutrition in Traditional Medicine.
Dr. Arti Prasad, Chief Division of General Internal Medicine, Chief, Section of Integrative Medicine, Founding Executive Director of UNM Centre for Life UNM HSC Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, gave a class on “Whole Person’s Care – The Role of Integrative Medicine” at Amrita School of Ayurveda.
Dr. Indu M. Menon and Dr. Pooja N., House Surgeons of Amrita School of Ayurveda, participated in the state level competition of “Ayurwiz’3- a National level quiz competition” conducted by Himalaya Herbals and stood first among 7 teams who competed at this level.
Dr. P. Ram Manohar, Research Director of Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda has been invited as a Keynote Speaker to present his views on “Preventive and Therapeutic Implications of Vegetarian Diet in Traditional Indian Medicine” at VegMed 2016.
PhD Program in Ayurveda has been launched at Amrita School of Ayurveda. Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda (ACARA) is overseeing the PhD program.

Dr. P. Ram Manohar, Research Director of Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda has been appointed as Advisor for the Research Council for History of Science, Indian National Science Academy, Government of India, New Delhi from the year 2016.

Dr. Oleg Sorokin, MD, PhD, Specialist in Human Physiology; Director, Biokvant Limited, Russia and Managing Director, National Ayurvedic Medical Association, Russia, addressed students and faculty of Amrita School of Ayurveda and gave an extensive talk on Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnsosis Based on Heart Rate Variability Analysis.
