Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham secured top honours in Computer Society of India (CSI) Annual Convention 2017, for the second consecutive year, held at Science City, Kolkata from 19 to 21 January, 2018. Amrita received 10 national awards from CSI, more than any other university or institution in India.

Amrita Only Institution in Kerala that Provides Courses as per Emerging Industry Demand

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is the only institution in Kerala that runs courses in the emerging tech. It offers MTech and PhD in cybersecurity, providing students with facility to research in areas such as Internet of Things and security, cloud computing, security data visualisation, cyber-physical/networked embedded systems cryptography, healthcare security, big data analytics platform and automotive security.

Amrita Receives the First TDF Project for Development of Light Weight Bullet Proof Materials

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and the Defence industrial major, L&T, were awarded the TDF certificate on 18th January, 2018, by Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman in Chennai. L&T in collaboration with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will develop the light weight bullet proof materials for the Indian Army. Dr. Shantanu Bhowmik, Head of Research and Projects, School of Engineering, Coimbatore, and the innovator of this technology at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham said, “We are very happy to have received the first TDF project. Along with L&T, we shall now set up 10 equipments to develop the composite panels for the light weight bullet proof jackets for Indian Army within two years.”
