Her Excellency Ms. Dana Kursh, Consul General of Israel to South India (Bengaluru), has inaugurated “Women in Sustaining the Environment” (WISE), a new collaborative research project between Amrita and Tel Aviv University on February 11, 2019 at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus.

The Bernard Lown Fellowship in Cardiovascular Health Program for Amrita Doctor

Dr. Aswathy S., Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine, School of Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, received the prestigious Bernard Lown Fellowship in Cardiovascular Health program which will enable her to work with the best minds in cardiovascular research at the Harvard. T. H. Chan School of Public Health.

Amrita Faculty Member Receives Bharat Vikas Award 2018

Dr. Lekshmi R. Nath, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacognosy, Amrita School of Pharmacy, Health Sciences campus, Kochi, was awarded the Bharat Vikas Award 2018 by the Institute of Self Reliance, Bhubaneswar, for her loyalty, diligence and outstanding performance in the field of Cancer Chemoprevention. 

Amrita Jivamritam Portable Water Purifiers Unveiled at Kochi

A project for portable water purifiers under the Jivamritam: Clean Drinking Water Project, the joint project of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, the Consulate General of Israel to South India, Bangalore, and Tel Aviv University, was inaugurated at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, on January 21, 2019. The formal inauguration was done by the Consul General Dana Kursh (Israeli Consulate to South India); Deputy Consul General Ariel Seidman, (Israeli Consulate to South India); Prof. Bhavani Rao, UNESCO Chair in Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Dr. Prem Nair, Medical Director at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Center. The portable low-cost filters from NU Filtration do not require electricity and can be mobilized quickly in disaster response
