Bio

Dr. Suchitra Sivadas is a skilled and compassionate clinician with extensive expertise in Paediatric and adult haematology, Haemato-oncology, and Inborn Errors of immunity (primary immunodeficiency disorders). She is currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Hematology at Amrita Hospital, Kochi.

Dr. Suchitra completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Alappuzha (2006), followed by a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram. She pursued her Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Paediatrics at the prestigious Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital, Chennai, and later worked as a Consultant Paediatrician at Motherhood Hospitals, Chennai. She obtained her MRCPCH (UK) in 2016 and joined the faculty at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in 2018 as part of the Department of Paediatrics.

She subsequently completed a Fellowship in Clinical Hematology (2023–2025) and joined the Department of Hematology as Assistant Professor in 2025. Her clinical expertise spans paediatric and adult haematological disorders, including both malignant and non-malignant conditions, with significant experience in bone marrow transplantation.

Dr. Suchitra has a special interest in Inborn Errors of Immunity (IEI). To further her expertise, she underwent advanced clinical training in 2023 at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, Mumbai, under the mentorship of renowned immunologist Dr. Mukesh Desai. Her efforts led to the establishment of the Comprehensive Inborn Errors of Immunity Clinic at Amrita (CIEICA)—one of the first dedicated clinics of its kind in South India—catering to children and adults with recurrent infections, autoimmunity, and severe allergic disorders.

Her additional areas of interest include Bone marrow failure syndromes, Bleeding disorders, CART and immunohematology, and Systemic amyloidosis. Known for her empathetic approach and commitment to excellence, Dr. Suchitra is widely respected for delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care and for her contributions to advancing clinical hematology and immunology services at Amrita Hospital.
