Bio

Soorya Haridas is a Faculty Associate in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. She holds a Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology from Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology from the University of Calicut. She has professional experience in teaching, industrial quality control, and research-based community nutrition interventions.

Her research focuses on food fortification, micronutrient intervention, and value addition in traditional foods to address nutritional deficiencies among vulnerable populations, particularly mothers and children during the first 1000 days of life. She has worked as a Research Fellow under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, contributing to community-based micronutrient interventions and seasonal mapping of locally available food resources.

She has also served as a Guest Lecturer and Quality Supervisor in the food industry, gaining experience in food safety, GMP audits, and training.
