Abstract : Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming a transformative synergy between cutting-edge technologies in modern manufacturing industries. By integrating AI algorithms into the additive manufacturing (AM) process, the process efficiency, precision, and ability for customization are greatly enhanced. AI optimizes design processes through generative algorithms, creating intricate structures that human designers might overlook. In the realm of production, AI streamlines workflows, minimizing errors, and reducing material waste. Real-time monitoring and adaptive control systems powered by AI ensure quality and consistency during printing. Overall, the integration of AI in AM not only accelerates innovation but also paves the way for a more sustainable and agile manufacturing future. In this chapter, the key process parameters in various AM techniques are identified, and the impact of AI in parameter optimization as well as process selection in various AM processes is discussed.
