Abstract : In national or international efforts, modern and automated vehicle control systems are critical transport facilities. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a review of the cybercriminal approaches, current cyberdefense landscapes, the importance of big data models, their associated wireless networks, and security measures. This chapter also provides a comparative analysis of cybersecurity maturity models that can be used to measure a country’s critical infrastructure in terms of protection and preparedness. The chapter also introduces the major classes of automated heavy vehicles, recent trends in automated heavy vehicles, driver assistance facilities, wireless networks, and cyberattacks on vehicle infrastructure. Further, the importance of data security to big data models and big data analytics for heavy vehicles is explored. In observations, it is found that big data and cybersecurity are the major issues that yet need to be handled before the acceptance of autonomous heavy vehicles on a large scale. Defenses for numerous attacks still need to be explored and handled properly.
