Abstract : Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) are increasingly used by clients. Consequently, VPN flaws have become a target for attackers. In this paper, we propose a simulated analysis of the negotiation process on the Internet Key Exchange (IKE) protocol version 2 in IPSec VPNs, as well as a Python script to perform a Distributed Denial-Of-Service (DDOS) attack by sending crafted packets on the endpoint site, which breaks the VPN establishment between the two sites. The proposed attack methodology was effective for routers and endpoint sites.
