Abstract : Vehicle emissions serve as significant factors that damage urban air quality because the problem of city air pollution continues to be a substantial challenge. Pollution control systems for vehicles lack the capability to change according to developing situations while Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and Electric Vehicles (EVs) operate with sustainable features. The review investigates AQMS integration with HEVs and EVs through V2X communications of IoT sensor networks and AI-based air quality prediction technology. Articles demonstrate that AI-run AQMS systems dynamically enhance vehicle performance, which decreases emissions while enhancing environmental conditions. The wide-scale deployment of these technologies encounters system implementation problems due to financial costs and government regulations, and the need for uniform framework standards. Approaches to develop cost-efficient sensors along with predictive emissions system strategies and unified communication protocols, need priority attention for successful large-scale implementation. Urban air quality management receives transformative benefits through the integration of air quality management systems with hybrid electric vehicles and electric vehicles.
