Abstract : The patients challenged with audio/visual impairment face enormous difficulty while navigating inside hospital environments. This work presents an indoor localization and navigation system which can be used in hospital environments. Empowered with voice support and a framework of 2-D (2-dimensional) routes, the system utilizes the floor map of a hospital campus and provides assistance to navigate. This paper utilizes the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) in indoor WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) environments for proximity analysis and thereby localization of patients for navigational assistance. In view of the variance of radio signals, genuinely precise consequence of the RSSI trending can be achieved.
