Bio

Dr. Angan Sengupta holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Economics from Calcutta University, followed by a Master’s in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. in Health Economics and Policy from Maastricht University, The Netherlands. During his doctoral training Dr. Angan was affiliated to Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore.

Dr. Angan Sengupta has sixteen years of research and twelve years of teaching experience at Post-graduate and Ph. D. level. He has been teaching Economics of Health and Healthcare for the NPTEL portal, as well as on the Swayam Prabha platform. Under Dr. Sengupta’s supervision, four doctoral scholars have graduated; he is presently guiding another six.

Dr. Angan earned a coveted fellowship from TIFAC, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India to conduct research as a Young Summer Scientist in IIASA, Austria. He was also a visiting fellow at Harvard University. His professional associations span several eminent institutions, including the Institute of Health Management Research, Bangalore, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and AC Nielsen.
