Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus celebrated the academic achievements of 2,197 graduates at the 30th Convocation Ceremony held at its Coimbatore campus, marking a significant milestone in the lives of students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes across various disciplines.
Shri Gyanesh Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner of India, delivered the convocation address as the Chief Guest. Congratulating the graduating students, he urged them to become responsible citizens and active contributors to India’s progress.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Gyanesh Kumar reaffirmed the Election Commission’s commitment to ensuring a transparent and accurate electoral system. He said continuous efforts would be made to maintain the integrity of the electoral rolls and that no one would be allowed to undermine India’s democratic process. Highlighting the important role of young citizens, he encouraged graduates to think critically, seek truth over misinformation, and contribute positively to the nation’s democratic values.
“A forward-looking India places its faith in the new generation. The nation relies on your confidence and tireless hard work. Your active contribution is vital for India’s greater development,” he said.
Dr. V. K. Paul, Member, NITI Aayog, attended the ceremony as the Guest of Honour. In his address, he emphasised that the true purpose of education lies in serving society and urged graduates to apply their knowledge, skills, and experience for the betterment of the nation and humanity.
The ceremony commenced with a benedictory address by Swami Ramakrishnananda Puri, Trustee, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Dr. Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Bipin Nair, Registrar, and Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan, Dean, School of Engineering, also addressed the graduating students, encouraging them to uphold the values of excellence, compassion, and service in their professional and personal lives.
Degrees were conferred upon 2,197 students, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. scholars from various schools and disciplines. The ceremony celebrated not only academic excellence but also the graduates’ readiness to contribute meaningfully to society through knowledge, innovation, and ethical leadership.
